CONNECT

 

The system supervisor can use this function to change setup connections for Auto Xperts.

 

To change Connections:

 

1.     From the Supervisor Master file, click FILE then CONNECT and the following screen will appear.

2.  The Connect Information screen will now be accessible;

 

3.  Choose the drive needed, Local Drive or Network Drive;

 

4.  Click on the small box to select the Dealer Wizard location and drive;

 

5.  Once the location and drive has been chosen, click Select to accept  it or choose Cancel to exit without saving the changes. You will then return to the Connect Information screen.

 

  1. Click Save to store changes and to return to the main menu (login screen).

 

PRINT REPORTS 

 

This feature allows the user to generate a report of generic listings or listings based on various search capabilities.

 

To print Reports:

 

1.    From the menu, click FILE then PRINT REPORTS or click on the printer icon from the main screen () and a window with all the type of available reports will appear as seen below;

2.      Highlight the required report and then select one of the following options:

Preview, Print or File.

 

3.      If you wish to limit your search, check the Define Search Parameters box and click Preview.  This will bring you to the Report Query screen.  This screen allows you to define your search.  Choose one of the options from the Field pull-down menu and fill in the corresponding value.  Type in the Value based on the option you choose from the Field (e.g. Code, Name etc.)

Click OK and the report will appear on the preview screen.  View the report and click the Printer Icon () to print or Close Preview () to return to the reports screen. 

 

4.      If you wish to print without defining your search, you may click Preview or Print after you have selected your report and then click on the Printer Icon ().  When completed, click Close Preview () and you will return to the reports screen.  To exit the reports screen click Exit.

 

5.      If you wish to file or save a report on your system or computer, click File.  The Save As screen will then appear. Enter a filename for this report and click Save.

 

PRINT SETUP & FAX SETUP 

 

This feature allows the system supervisor to setup all the print options for Auto Xperts.

 

 

Printer Setup:

 

1.      From the Supervisor Master File, click FILE and PRINT SETUP and the following screen will appear;

2.      In the Printer section of the window, choose the Name of the printer from the pop down menu and click Properties to choose the Paper Size, Orientation and Paper Source;

 

3.      Click OK to store and return to the Print Setup window;

 

4.      Click OK to return to the main menu.

 

Fax Setup:

 

If a Fax Machine is connected to the computer system, you can follow steps one (1) through four (4) from above, choosing the Fax Machine from the printer setup screen.  This will allow the user to fax documents directly from the Auto Xperts system.

 

NOTE: The PC must be hooked up to a fax machine.

CHANGE PASSWORD

This feature allows the system supervisor to change passwords within Auto Xperts.

 

To change the Supervisor Password:

 

1.       From the supervisor master file, click FILE then CHANGE PASSWORD and the following screen will appear;

2.      Enter in the Current Password and press return;

 

3.      Enter the New Password and press return;

 

4.      Confirm the New Password and click OK to save the new password and return to the main menu (Click on Cancel to exit without saving the new password).

 

 

OPTIONS 

 

This feature allows the system supervisor to change default options (e.g. Date and Time, Currency, Miscellaneous).

 

How to change Options:

 

1.      From the Supervisor Master File, close the main menu by clicking on the X in the right top corner.  The screen will now become blank or white;

 

2.      Click FILE and the Options selection will now be available;

3.      Click Options and the following screen will appear;

4.      Date and Time:Choose the Date Format and the Separator from the corresponding pop-down menus.  Click the Clock box to allow  the clock to be displayed in the corner of the Auto Xperts screen. Then choose the clock format by clicking the desired format (12 or 24 hours).

 

 

 

5.      Currency:            Choose the currency information required (e.g. Currency Symbol, separators and number of decimal places) as seen in the following screen;

6.      Miscellaneous:  Choose the required options (e.g. Warning Sounds, Tool Tips and Startup Forms) as seen in the following screen;

7.      Click OK to save changes and return to the main screen (click Cancel to exit);

 

8.      The screen will remain blank. You must click Menu () from the toolbar to display the main menu.
